Purple, Red and Yellow Wiggles leaving Aussie band

SYDNEY—Three members of the children's music quartet The Wiggles will be hanging up their colorful outfits and leaving the Australian band this year, with the Blue Wiggle the lone original member left dancing.

Jeff Fatt (Purple Wiggle), Murray Cook (Red Wiggle) and Greg Page (Yellow Wiggle) will leave after the group wraps up a "Celebration Tour" that begins this month and ends in Australia in December, the band said in a statement Thursday. The trio will no longer perform but will take on backstage, creative roles.

Three replacements have already been chosen to join Anthony Field (Blue Wiggle), who helped found the group in 1991. Since then, the group has earned worldwide renown with dozens of pop-influenced children's albums, concert tours and a television show featuring singing, jumping, dancing and skits with recurring characters like Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus.

The demands of touring and performing have taken their toll, and the three departing members want to spend more time with their families, Cook said.

"We've been entertaining children around the world for 21 years and it's important that we plan for the future so that The Wiggles can keep wiggling in the years to come," Cook said in the statement.

Page, who made a surprise return to the group in January after leaving five years earlier due to illness, said it was time to move on.

"When The Wiggles asked me to return to the group last year I was excited at the thought of performing with the three guys that I started the group with 21 years ago," Page said. "With Murray and Jeff's decision to stop performing at the end of the year it's a nice sense of closure to also end my time on stage during the final tour with all the original members of the group."

Page, Field and Cook had studied early childhood education before they founded The Wiggles in Sydney in 1991. The band has sold more than 23 million DVDs and 7 million CDs worldwide, and its TV shows are broadcast in more than 100 countries, according to The Wiggles' website.

Performers Emma Watkins, Lachlan Gillespie, and Simon Pryce will become the new Yellow, Purple and Red Wiggles, respectively.

Mom is turnen 64 on May 28. Retirin' end ob da Month. Last day ob werk is May 31. She's been werkin' fer 50 years since she was 14 (had ta drop outta school ta help look after 9 siblings). She eventually got her High School equivalency an' went on ta pretty gus job wif da City ob Toronto (currently werkin' in Red Light Camera department)

So anyways, my moms was a single Mom until I was 12 an' she met my current stepdad....dey been dogether 30 years...neber married but as close as any married couple.

Stepdad an' I chipped in an' got her a HP laptop w/ 17" screen fer her retirement. Her brother is gettin' her a leather carryin' case an' sone other accessories. GF an' I are headin' down June 2 fer da weekend, taken my parents ta da Jays/Bosox game onna Saturday fer my Mom's bday. Afterwards, parents are headin' home an' GF an' I are meetin' up wif da Whiteys fer dinner...dey are in town for DMB concert dat night. Should be ripper!

Chinese Zoo Keeper Shows Dedication By 'Licking Monkey's Bottom To Save His Life'

A Chinese zoo keeper has reportedly saved the life of a tiny monkey by licking its bottom for an hour.

Zhang Bangsheng leapt into action after noticing his young charge had eaten a peanut and was in pain because he couldn't pass it.

The monkey, a three-month-old Francois Langur, was spotted looking unwell at Wuham Zoo, surrounded by peanut shells that had been thrown in by visitors.

Bangsheng, 50, realised the critter, who is too small to ingest medicine, was in trouble and washed its bottom with warm water before licking it until it was able to excrete the nut, China Smack reported, via The Wuhan Evening.

Bangsheng apparently “laughed with satisfaction” after the tiny monkey finally passed the obstruction.

Several outlets are questioning the authenticity of the claims, but if this is indeed true, talk about going above and beyond the call of duty...

WATCH ZACHARY TOMORROW NIGHT ON NBC's "COMMUNITY"!!! There are actually 3 episodes, 8pm, 9pm and 9:30pm in this special finale run of the show. Zachary is in the episode called "First Chang Dynasty" at 9pm. A lot of characters are "Dressed Up" in costumes in this episode, not the usual. And there are a lot of "guard kids", but Zachary is one of the few with "lines", and he is the main guard of the "prisoner" girl, played by Gillian Jacobs.
